It’s almost impossible to think Christmas is just next week! Time has flown by so quickly. We are busily finalising our friendly Christmas calls and door-to-door visits for people who would otherwise be alone this festive season. We know many people struggle with loneliness and isolation at this time of the year and want to help as best as we can. If you volunteer with us and would like to help us with these calls or the door-to-door visits, please do get in touch!
This week we would like to bring to your attention two very timely campaigns.
"International Migrants' Day" falls on the 18th of December. The United Nations uses this campaign to try and ensure all migrants and their families are looked after properly and that their rights are acknowledged and met. You can find out more here.
On the 20th December, we will celebrate "International Human Solidarity Day". This is a day to celebrate our unity in diversity and raise public awareness of the importance of solidarity with all people. Find out more here.
In this week's newsletter, you'll find ideas on how to keep warm, fit and supported this winter.
If you need support you can meet our Healthy Hub staff throughout the week at the Community Hub, at 5 Leeming Road, Borehamwood WD6 4EB!
Stay safe, warm and have a lovely weekend!
