Supporting our children with numbers and math can be challenging for us especially when we struggle with it ourselves. Learn how to improve your child's confidence in numbers by incorporating activities and awareness in everyday tasks. Our Help your Child love Numbers 3-hour sessions will provide you with simple tips that will improve your confidence as a parent to continue to support your child develop this important life skill. Introduction to Air Frying

Have an Air fryer or considering buying one? Looking to cook cheaper and healthier? Come along to our cooking with an Air Fryer 3 hour session. Learn to cook with one, add new recipes and learn about the cost savings. Cooking tips will be provided on this free course along with a chance to taste food cooked in the air fryer. 

Any Hertfordshire resident aged 19 and over is welcome to attend this course. Participants are eligible for the draw to win an air fryer if they have obtained a D grade or below in their Maths GCSE (or equivalent), or are in receipt of any benefits.

Blood Pressure and Cardiovascular Awareness Event 
Do you know what high blood pressure is, what causes it and the impact?

Gambling and Related Harm
This CPD accredited training aims to help make problem gambling more identifiable for practitioners and volunteers working with women, men and young people in both generic and gender specific services. 

In this session you will have the opportunity to discuss these issues and: 

• Gain an understanding of problem gambling issues specific to women. 
• Learn about the impacts and risks of problem gambling. 
• Increase your confidence to discuss the subject of problem gambling.

Full Cost Recovery Training 

This training will be delivered by Stephen Craker from Communities 1st
Members can join this course for £25, and non members can join for £40. This training will be delivered at Phillimore Community Centre in Radlett. 

By the end of this session, we hope that you will be able to:

  • Fully understand what is meant by Full Cost Recovery
  • To understand your Direct Costs and Over Head Costs, and know how to factor these into your applications
  • Be confident in your ability to apply the Full Cost recovery concept to your future grant and funding applications

This Autumn - Free on line workshops to help protect vulnerable people from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning

Help protect vulnerable people that you support by booking on to one of our free, hour long (9.30 - 10.30) and interactive Zoom workshops. Dementia Friends - Sport and Physical Activity

The Alzheimer's Society are delivering a virtual dementia Friends Information session specifically for sport and physical activity providers in Hertfordshire. the session will offer attendees a chance to develop a greater understanding of what it means to live with dementia, and how you may be able to start adapting your sport or physical activity session to better support someone living with dementia.
